         <title>modENCODE position at OICR in Toronto</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="http://www.oicr.on.ca/research/stein.htm" target="_blank">Stein Lab</a> at the<br />
<a href="http://www.oicr.on.ca" target="_blank">Ontario Institute for Cancer Research</a> is recruiting a software engineer and a data curator in support of the <a href="http://www.modencode.org" target="_blank">modENCODE</a> Data Coordinating Center. The ideal candidate for the developer position will be Bachelors or Masters-level biologist<br />
or computer scientist with significant experience in biological databases and production-quality<br />
software development.&nbsp; The data curator should have a Masters degree or Ph.D. in a the<br />
life sciences, experience with high volume functional genomics data, common bioinformatics<br />

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The preliminary <a href="http://genome.wustl.edu/pub/organism/Invertebrates/Caenorhabditis_japonica/assembly/Caenorhabditis_japonica-3.0.2/">assembly of <i>C. japonica</i></a> is now available from the <a href="http://genome.wustl.edu/">Genome Sequencing Center (WUSTL)</a> website.  <a href="http://genome.wustl.edu/tools/blast/">BLAST searching</a> of the assembly is also available.</p>]]></description>

         <title>New release schedule</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p>Effective immediately, WormBase will be moving to a monthly release schedule.  New releases of the database occur on the final Friday of the month, will be available on the <a href="http://dev.wormbase.org/">development site</a> a week later, and on <a href="/">www.wormbase.org</a> two weeks thereafter.          <title>New interface for the Textpresso literature search</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.textpresso.org/">Textpresso</a> -- the software that powers the WormBase Literature Search -- has a new user interface.  Available directly from the WormBase home page (select the "Literature" option), Textpresso searches individual sentences in the full text of 9461 papers and 24,526 abstracts.</p>]]></description>
