Expressed in vulD. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including congenital nongoitrous hypothyroidism 2; focal segmental glomerulosclerosis 7; and renal Wilms' tumor. Is an ortholog of human PAX2 (paired box 2); PAX5 (paired box 5); and PAX8 (paired box 8).
