Quantitatively, 38% of
lin-17 mutants had the normal pattern of
egl-17::gfp expression (disregarding morphology); the others had the reversed or the symmetric pattern. In contrast, 71% of
lin-17;
cam-1 (P = 0.0041) mutants had the normal expression pattern, indicating that
cam-1 mutations partially suppressed the abnormal pattern of
egl-17::gfp expression in
lin-17 mutants. Additionally, the percentage of animals with the reversed pattern of
egl-17::gfp expression (P7.pa-/P7.pp+) was reduced in
lin-17;
cam-1 (0%, as compared with 13% in
lin-17).
