Strong expression is seen in the large posterior nuclei of the intestine, in adults and late larval stages. There is some variability in the number of nuclei staining. Usually the extreme posterior nuclei stain first. Occasionally in 3-fold embryos a few nuclei show b-galactosidase expression. All injected lines show this expression. This fusion contains all the intergenic region, though this region is only separated from F38B6.5 (the next upstream gene) by ~0.5kb, and so could be a downstream gene; the promoter driving expression of F38B6.4 would then not be included in the construct.
