Subcellular_localizationIn early embryos we find HENN-1::GFP rather diffuse in the cytoplasm, with the exception of the P-lineage, the progenitors of the future germ cells. In this lineage we find HENN-1::GFP in discrete granules. At later stages, HENN-1::GFP localizes to perinuclear granules in the germ cells. This includes the Z2 and Z3 cells, the proliferating germ cells in L2-L3 animals and the germline nuclei in the adult gonad. These granular structures seem to disperse upon differentiation of germ cells into oocytes.

Western
PatternOn Western blots HENN-1 is detected in all stages of wild-type animals, with strong expression in embryos and adults. HENN-1 is expressed rather ubiquitously, with strong expression in the germline.
