Pattern | GFP expression detected from the beginning of the comma stage throughout larval and adult stages. During embryonic stages, GFP expression was restricted to AB lineage cells which become hypodermis, head ganglia and ventral cord neurons. During the mid stages of embryogenesis, the GFP signal was observed in the epithelium of the hypodermal cells of the embryo. In later comma stage embryos, signals were spread across the dorso-ventral line and seemed to enclose the entire embryonic body. GFP expression was also observed in neurons in the head ganglia. This expression pattern persisted until the first larval stage and the following larval stages. During post-embryonic development, GFP was highly expressed in head neurons, and ventral cord neurons. In L3, the vulva epithelial cells which originated from P3.p-P8.p became distinct among the GFP expressing ventral nerve cords. Robust GFP expression was also found in HSN. Distal tip cells expressed GFP as they migrated along the body wall. Lateral hypodermal cells (seam cells) also expressed GFP throughout developmental stages. Posteriorly, GFP was also observed in tail ganglia and in some neurons located between the vulva and the tail. | |||
