Subcellular_localizationUBC-25::GFP is located in the cytosol of the corresponding cells and is typically slightly enriched in the nuclei.

PatternThe expression of ubc-25::gfp begins in gastrulation stage embryos shortly before morphogenesis starts. UBC-25::GFP fluorescence could be identified in precursor cells of neurons and muscle cells, but also in other cell types, like hypodermal precursor cells. After hatching of the L1 larva and in all subsequent life stages, ubc-25::gfp is expressed strongest in the pharyngeal muscle and in the anal muscle cells. In L4 stage animals and adolescent hermaphrodites ubc-25::gfp is also expressed in the vulval muscles. Furthermore, UBC-25::GFP fluorescence was identified in all four nerve chords and in neurons. A weaker level of UBC-25::GFP is detected in all body wall muscles. No post-embryonic ubc-25::gfp expression was observed in any non-neuromuscular tissue or cell type.
