PatternAnalysis of the expression of the prg-1/prg-2 mRNA by real-time PCR revealed an expression pattern similar to that observed for the PRG-1 protein (see Expr8153). The only exception observed was in the embryonic stage. Although a high level of the PRG-1 protein was observed in embryos, the mRNA was almost undetectable, supporting the idea that PRG-1 complexes in embryos are parentally derived.
