e1464sd : amber suppressor partially or completely suppresses amber alleles of more than forty different genes; slow growing cs (sterile at 15x) otherwise no phenotype alone; probably alteration in tRNATrp gene. ES3 in presence of unc-13(e450) etc. ME1. NA > 20 all identical to e1464.
e1877dm : dominant suppressor of unc-51(e369) does not suppress other alleles of unc-51. ES3 in presence of e369. NA2 (e1864).
sup-5 encodes a tryptophan tRNA; sup-5 mutations were first identified as suppressors of a subset of null mutations that affect muscle structure and assembly; further characterization indicated that sup-5 mutations function as informational suppressors that confer allele-specific suppression of nonsense mutations in many different genes by promoting readthrough of amber (UAG) chain-terminating codons.
Sequence connection updated on information from [Waterston RH]. Connection changed to B0523.t1 from B0523.5. The former lies within in an intron of the latter. [krb 020614]
