The merged image in C (yellow), created by superimposing the images in A and B, shows that SDC-3 acquires a subnuclear focus. (D-F) Confocal images of a wild-type XX embryo co-stained with anti-SDC-3 (green) and anti-DPY-26 (red). The merged image in F demonstrates that SDC-3 and DPY-26 are coincident, indicating that SDC-3 associates with X chromosomes. (G,H) Confocal images of sdc-3 deletion embryos co-stained with anti-SDC-3 (green) and PI (red) demonstrates that the SDC-3 antibodies are specific to the SDC-3 protein.
