(D) VAB-1 is expressed in at least two of the proximal oocytes, whereas (E and G) DAF-18 is expressed in more than five oocytes in both wild-type and female animals. (I) VAB-1 is expressed in a variety of neuronal tissues, whereas (J) DAF-18 expression appears to be restricted to several of the amphid neurons.
