WBPicture0000010116DescriptionExpression and localization of calnexin. (C-G) GFP expression pattern of CNX-1. GFP expression was ubiquitously detected (C) in all blastomeres at early stage embryo, (D) stronger in the head and tail regions at 2-fold stage embryo, and (E) restricted to the H-shaped excretory cell, dorsal and ventral nerve cord, head and tail neurons, (F) in spermatheca, and (G) in the male tail structure, including spicules, in adult worms. (H-I) GFP expression is merged with DiI staining of head and tail region. Expression was seen in the (H) ASK and ADL, (I) PHA and PHB which are indicated by arrowheads. Bar indicates 10 um. (J-O) Immunogold electron micrographs of wild-type (J-M) and cnx-1 mutant (N-O) worms. (J-M) Transverse section through the midbody of N2 hermaphrodite showing CNX-1 localization in the excretory cells (J,K), germ cells (L), and intestine (L,M). (N-O) No gold particle was detected in the cnx-1 (nr2009) mutant. Bar indicates 1 um.
