WBPicture0000010185DescriptionFigure 3. Ceitr-1 has three promoter regions that regulate expression in different cell types. (a) Three constructs, pHAB157, pGT001 and pGT002, were produced in which the promoters, pA, pB and pC, respectively, were fused to GFP. Each construct was microinjected into C. elegans and stable transformed lines selected. The pattern of GFP expression was recorded using confocal microscopy. Images are projected amalgamations of Z-series. Transmitted light images are shown in red. The tissues in which expression was recorded for each promoter construct are represented by blue bars and illustrated below. Expression of pA is observed in the vulva (b), rectal epithelial (Rep) cells (c) and anterior muscle cells of the pharyngeal terminal bulb (d). Expression from pB is observed in the spermatheca (e), PDA neurone (f) amphid socket cells (g) and excretory cell (g). Expression of pC is observed in the intestine (h), pharyngeal isthmus (h,i) and spermathecal (Sp) valve, uterine sheath cells and spermatheca (j). In all cases, expression was observed in four or more transgenic lines.
