WBPicture0000011195 | Description | Developmental profile of fem-3 transcripts. Poly(A)+ RNAs were isolated from developmentally staged hermaphrodites and were separated by electrophoresis in a 2.0% denaturing agarose gel and transferred to nitrocellulose. The filter was hybridized to a fem-3 probe (A) (cDNA clone pJK50, see Materials and methods) and then rehybridized to an act-1 probe (B). The amount of act-1 RNA in total RNA appears to be constant throughout postembryonic development (Krause and Hirsh 1984); therefore, the act-1 signal serves as an internal control for the amount of RNA loaded. Arrows indicate fern-3 transcripts. (A and B) (Lane E) Embryonic RNA; (lanes L1-L4) RNAs from first through fourth larval stages, respectively; (lane A I Adult RNA). | |||
