WBPicture0000011848DescriptionFig. 6. NPHP-1 and PKD-2 colocalize in male-specific sensory cilia. PKD-2DGFP (a and d) and NPHP-1DDsRed2 (b and e) have overlapping expression (in yellow) in the cilia of the CEM neurons (c) and the HOB and RnB neurons (f). Usually, NPHP-1DDsRed2 and NPHP-1DGFP are absent from neuronal cell bodies in the adult. However, the presence of PKD-2DGFP induces NPHP-1DDsRed2 to aggregate in the cell bodies confirming cell identities. Both PKD- 2DGFP and NPHP-1DDsRed2 colocalize to ciliary endings (arrows in c and f). PKD-2DGFP is absent from ray 6 cilia, however NPHP-1DDsRed2 is present (arrowhead). Scale bar is 25 um.
