WBPicture0000013071DescriptionFig. 5. glp-1 expression driven by a 493 bp-long fragment from the second intron is evident in various neurons throughout development. glp-1(2in_493) expression at different developmental stages. In a comma stage embryo, glp-1(2in_493) is active in some ventral P blast precursor cells (arrows) [a DIC picture (left) and its corresponding fluorescence image (right)]. For an L1 larva (ventral view), both DIC and fluorescence pictures are shown. At all larval stages, glp-1(2in_493) is expressed in most, if not all, ventral nerve cord neurons. At the L3 stage, GFP fluorescence is obvious in numerous head neurons. The bracket indicates the head neuronal ring around the second pharyngeal bulb. The glp-1 transgene is also active in certain neurons in the tail region.
