Subcellular_localizationSCAV-3::GFP labeled both puncta and tubular structures that were positive for NUC-1 and LAAT-1, suggesting that SCAV-3 localizes to lysosomes. SCAV-3(AAA)::GFP, in which the C-terminal leucine-based lysosomal targeting motif (Leu516-Val517-Leu518) was replaced by three alanines, mostly stained plasma membranes, further suggesting that SCAV-3 is a lysosomal membrane protein.

PatternSCAV-3::GFP is widely expressed during embryonic, larval, and adult stages in various tissues including pharynx, hypodermis, gonadal sheath cells, vulva, and tail region. SCAV-3::GFP was not evident in the intestine and was only very weakly expressed in body wall muscle cells.
