WBPicture0000006550DescriptionThere are multiple components to the b-galactosidase expression pattern driven by pUL#161G10. The most striking component is in the excretory gland cell, from late embryogenesis onwards. b-galactosidase appears to fill the two large lobes of this bi-nucleated cell which is formed from the fusion of two cells during development. Occasionally the b-galactosidase appears to be in discrete subcellular compartments restricted to the posterior half of the lobes of the excretory gland. There is also expression in the ventral nerve cord from late embryogenesis onwards and in the intestine in the late embryo and early larval stages.
