The wild-type embryos shown were imaged from the same slide under the same conditions, after staining with anti-GADR-1 (green) and DAPI to mark nuclei (blue). GADR-1 levels are low at the four-cell stage (A) and have risen by gastrulation (B and C). Staining is reduced by gadr-1 RNAi (D) and by n2452, an allele with a deletion of seven genes including part of gadr-1 (E). Scale: C. elegans embryos are 50 um long.
