WBPicture0000013070DescriptionFig. 4. A 490 bp-long fragment from the second intron drives lin-12 expression in ventral nerve cord neurons during development. (A) Expression of lin-12(2in_490) in an embryo at the comma stage. The first panel is a DIC image, the other panels are the corresponding fluorescence images at different focal planes. lin-12(2in_490) is active in ventrally located P blast cells (the lineage is indicated by the arrow). (B) lin-12(2in_490) is expressed in the ventral nerve cord throughout all larval stages (arrows). Both ventral cord neurons and axonal structures are GFP-positive (fluorescent pictures). In the case of the L1 and L2 stages, the corresponding DIC images (upper panels) are also shown. Bars represent 20 um.
