cfz-2 encodes one of four C. elegans Frizzled homologs, integral membrane proteins that contain an external cysteine-rich domain (CRD) and seven transmembrane domains and that function in a wide variety of species as receptors for Wnt glycoprotein signaling molecules; CFZ-2 activity is required for cell migration and for vulval development.
Predicted to enable Wnt receptor activity and Wnt-protein binding activity. Involved in neuroblast migration; neuron migration; and positive regulation of motor neuron migration. Predicted to be located in plasma membrane. Expressed in intestine; nervous system; and pharynx. Is an ortholog of human FZD5 (frizzled class receptor 5).

Map position created from combination of previous interpolated map position (based on known location of sequence) and allele information. Therefore this is not a genetic map position based on recombination frequencies or genetic experiments. This was done on advice of the CGC.
