RemarkInitially, embryos that are blocked at the 1.5-fold stage (18/34 animals) resemble elongation-defective embryos characteristic of strong let-502 mutations (Wissmann et al., 1997). Soon thereafter, these embryos either adopt a somewhat compressed appear- ance or extrude internal cells at variable positions along the ventral midline. Embryos that elongate to the 2-fold stage (13/34) often show an apparent hypercontraction in the middle to posterior of the embryo. This results in a tail with a crumpled appearance, and these embryos frequently rupture along the ventral midline.Paper_evidenceWBPaper00003517

RemarkThe majority of mel-11(it26) embryos raised at the nonpermissive temperature arrest between the 1.5- and 2-fold stages of elongation (31/34 animals).Paper_evidenceWBPaper00003517

Remarkit26 retains near-normal Ste activity; the brood sizes of it26 hermaphrodites are near normal at all temperatures. it26 fully complements sb55 for Ste.Paper_evidenceWBPaper00003517
