RemarkLoss of odr-1 eliminates ascr#3 response (Figure 1D). To identify the site of odr-1 action, we used strains that narrowly expressed the wild type ODR-1 protein in the background of the loss-of-function mutant odr-1(n1936) (Krzyzanowski et al., 2016). We focused on the latter four neuronal pairs because loss of ASG does not affect ascr#3 response (Figure 1B), while ASI is involved in ascr#10response and therefore could not be tested in this paradigm (Aprison and Ruvinsky, 2017). Expression of ODR-1 in ASJ, ASK, or AWC did not rescue the odr-1(n1936) mutant phenotype (Figure 1E). In contrast, expression in AWB robustly rescued odr1(n1936) (Figure 1F), indicating that ODR-1 acts in AWB with respect to ascr#3 response.Paper_evidenceWBPaper00062280

RemarkAnimals did not show a reduction in chemotaxis to ammonium acetate in the soluble chemotaxis assay; however in the odorant chemotaxis assay, animals showed a significant reduction in chemotaxis compared to wild-type animals.Paper_evidenceWBPaper00031959

Phenotype_assayTreatmentAnimals were tested in both soluble and odorant chemotaxis assays. For the soluble assay, radial gradients of NH4Ac were established by diffusion in the agar. For the odorant assay, a droplet of NH4Ac (10 mL, 7.5 M) was suspended from the lid of the plate.Paper_evidenceWBPaper00031959
