Subcellular_localizationAxon bundles in the nerve ring and ventral nerve cords of wild-type animals were brightly stained with the anti-egl-3 PC2 antibody.
TypeAntibodyPolyclonal rabbit anti-egl-3 PC2 antibodies.
PatternMany neurons in both the head (mean, 46.6 head cells per animal) and tail ganglia (mean, 12 tail cells per animal) were stained with the anti-egl-3 PC2 antibodies. A subset of expressing cells were identified, including: the mechanosensory neurons ASH, ALM, AVM, and PVM; the interneurons AVB, AVD, PVC, RIG, and SDQL; and the HSN egg-laying motorneurons. Expression in the command interneurons AVB, AVD, and PVC was confirmed by double staining with anti-egl-3 PC2 and anti-glr-1 GluR antibodies. In addition, many motor neurons in the ventral nerve cord (mean, 37 cells per animal) were stained with anti-egl-3 PC2 antibody. Non-neural cell types (e.g., hypodermis and muscle cells) were not stained with the anti-egl-3 PC2 antibody.
